Summer Delights

Happy Summer!  Such a welcome time of year after the long winter we had this year.  This morning at Splitcoast the challenge was called Summer Lovin.  When I think of summer lovin, I think of being in the garden and enjoying all of nature's beauties.  I decided to do some watercoloring on this one.

I began by stamping the hydrangea with a light grey ink.  I pressed my Distress inks onto my acrylic block, added water and used that to paint onto my flower.
(colours:  Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint)
When it was dry, I added the black dots to the center of the flower petals and the sentiment from Rubbernecker.

Also adding my card to these challenges:

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Supplies:  stamps- Stampendous, Rubbernecker/ Distress inks/ paintbrush/ acrylic block/ blackline pen

Karen, that is a truly GORGEOUS card!

I've had that stamp for a while, but could never get it to "work" for me. I pull it out all the time but it just never seemed to look right. This is perfect - off to try something similar with it myself.

Another wonderful watercolor, Karen. The shading on the flowers is gorgeous, as is the background.

So soft and beautiful, Karen! I like how you stamped the flowers in a lighter color (gray) instead of black, so the outlines are really subtle. I love your work.

Absolutely gorgeous watercolor, Karen! What a great idea to stamp with a light color and then watercolor over it - will have to try that!
